About the Project:

As an educator, artist, and designer, I am passionate about building both visual, and written literacy in today’s youth. I created this sketchbook journal intended for children ages 7+, with the goal of creating an outlet for children to express their ideas through writing and drawing.

I created the book using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign.

I had the opportunity to share this book in a gallery at Southern Illinois University. I wanted the viewers to engage with the book in the gallery, so I had a decal made from one of the pages in the book, and applied it to a whiteboard. As visitors walked through the gallery they were invited to draw on the whiteboard.
